Our story—

Central Market started in 1974 as a family owned and operated independent grocery store in the town of Oceano, CA. For 50 years, we have remained local, independent, and family owned.

We have a philosophy of balance—a balance of old techniques and new ones.

We remain true to the original standard of service which has been handed down gerneration-to-generation and continue to deliver exceptional one-to-one service that the big box stores cannot.

This includes us adapting to the changing times and staying up to date with different ingredients and flavors, and passion and skill.

We work with local farmers, family-owned distributers, and large big-box wholesale distributers to source all of the fresh produce, groceries, and general merchandise. All this contributes to the wide range and diverse set of inventory here in-store. Our market is a specialty store—offering a large selection of top choice Mexican-American products. Our buyers put passion and care into each item they decide to introduce to our inventory.
